Canaan

You know you are around Jews, when at a communal meeting you realize all of the thoughts have all been said…but it has not been said by me.

Canaan is like that for me.

What more is there to say about a decent kosher restaurant in Tel Aviv with no particular angle, signature dish, location or service.

Is the food good? Yep! Location work? Yep. Service acceptable. Check! So, what is the problem you ask? Nothing in particular. Just a very good meal that will satisfy but, nothing you will write home about.

Canaan is owned/operated by the same people that own/operate Goshen, so they know food and meat. In fact, some of the better food items at Goshen are available at Canaan, eg. Carpaccio, meats on sizzling plate and more.

Canaan is a worthwhile choice when in Tel Aviv, especially if you want to mix things up from the same old places, but it is a one and done for me, meaning not a place I need to go back to over and over again. Do not let this review dissuade you. The food is excellent and service is good. But, with steep competition and limited time, Canaan does not bring an edge to a strong and saturated field.

Enjoy Canaan. I do. I really do. Just not a place I feel drawn to over and over.
