One of the tastiest burgers you will EVER sink your teeth into! Segev is the Burger King!
Do you remember the old A-1 Commercial?
“Hamburger isn’t chopped ham, it is chopped steak!”
Well, at Segev’s Burgers, it is indeed the case. This place is the real deal. Brazenly located across the street from Crave in Machane Yehuda Market, this place makes an EXCEPTIONAL burger - and they do it from using entrecôte, the very best meat. A-1 worthy!
Further, Segev prides itself on being a butchery that serves meat and hamburgers. They freeze dry and age their meats to perfection. Do not ask if they have bacon. They will dismiss the question as if to give you the Hesiman and say, stay away with those questions. We are not “Crave.” They do, however, have a delicious smoked goose breast sliced thin with small fat on the margins that can be added to a burger that is more tasty than any of the lamb bacon I have had in town.
Segev not only has the right ingredients, it knows how the burger is best made: flame broiled and assembled in a line. Henry Ford is smiling! Each person at Segev has a role which allows them to focus on ONE job and they each do it well.
The Burger with Mergez was insane. The Assado burger was equally delicious! Each char-stamped bun has chimichurri loaded on, a great addiction to any chopped steak!
The steak sandwich, courtesy of the Underhill’s (Hamayveen - Yahveen) is equally flavorful and worthy.
As someone who has enjoyed burgers for a long time and tried them all over the country, I am pretty sure that Segev makes the tastiest, plain old burger I have had in Israel. That is not a simple statement. I thought long and hard before I typed those words.
I am eager to be challenged, but for now, Segev is the “burger King” of Jersualem.
