You will be hard pressed to find a great eatery in Israel that does not morph itself for Shabbat meals and options.
Marzipan, the world famous rugelach bakery transforms for Friday to buy the sweet treats, variations of challot and countless cakes to enhance the Shabbat experience.
A few restaurants have followed suit, (see 443 Grill) and there are 2 places that only offer appetizing and delicacies week or day round.
Marvad Haksamim is one such place. It used to be a restaurant but has closed its doors for 6 days a week to be open for one (and holidays). Here you will find an elaborate buffet of options that are al charged by weight. The food looks delicious, but in this case, the looks can be deceiving.
Much of the chicken is dry, the meat not so flavorful and the salads bland. While it is easier than cooking for Shabbat, make sure you choose a place that makes Shabbat the day of Oneg it is supposed to be.
